Instructors
are concerned about the declining levels of fitness in children
and know that a Tae Kwon Do based fitness programme can
make a difference. Research has shown:
1
in 4 school children are overweight A large percentage of
children rarely achieve the levels of activity required
to maintain strong heart and lungs Over a third of children
between ages 5 & 8 show at least one risk factor for
coronary heart disease Large amounts of time in front of
the television, computers, etc. are a major factor in the
decline of fitness levels in children
T.A.G.B.
Tiger coaches hope to help reverse this situation by offering
a new opportunity for children to be active whilst learning
the dynamic martial art of Tae Kwon Do in a safe and fun
environment

Classes
are in line with the National Curriculum requirements for
P.E. and incorporate target setting to provide easily attainable
goals. Children are taught in a positive manner, allowing
for all ages and abilities. Not only will children see improvements
in their fitness and flexibility through regular participation
in T.A.G.B. Tigers, but they will also learn how their bodies
work and how important it is to be active
